We are now proud to have been published by LAN Airlines. Jose, Lima te Llena's co-founder and experienced chef, shared his expertise on the star of all Peruvian street food: anticuchos. These spiced, marinated, and grilled beef hearts are a great way to begin (or end) a night of going out or drinking!
We are also featured by Miradas Magazine, a premier publication in Peru which showcases the most up-and-coming projects and features in the country. Speaking with Jaime and Janet, we shared our mutual appreciation for a good cup of coffee and the grand hospitality of Peruvian customer service. We are dedicated to passing these traits on in our Lima te Llena food and chicha art tours!
Together with Jose, the ladies tried many delights such as fresh vegetable extracts, banana chips, seafood dishes made on the spot, and a giant handful of fruits from throughout Peru. Finally, we topped the whole sweet experience off with a visit to one of our favorite heladerias, or ice cream shops.
Here's what they had to say about their day tour afterwards:
Thank you SO much for showing us around town! It went by super fast and I know we all had a blast! I think Angie really enjoyed conversing with a fellow American/Peruvian. I could see the stress rolling off of her. :) I would have never been able to see the parts of the city we saw today without you! Please continue doing all that you do helping us gringos get some Latin flair! ;)
We took our big rolling bus to the market area where we separated into 2 groups, one led by each of Lima te Llena's co-founders and guides. Some loved the fried river shrimp, others liked trying almost a dozen regional Peruvian fruits, but everyone had a great time.
After the local market visit and chatting with our lovely friends within, we all headed to one of our recommended seafood restaurants nearby, indulging in lonche (Peruvian tea time). There was an old jukebox with music videos in the corner and we ate a lot, drank a lot, and jived to cumbia and folkloric tunes as well as songs by ABBA and Katy Perry! Here's what the group coordinator told us the next day:
Thank you very much for the tour, food and whole experience yesterday. I got a round of applause this morning from the group for organizing it - but it really should have gone to you guys! [She also left us a very kind TripAdvisor review!]
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to all of our travelers for discovering Lima, Peru with us recently, we hope to see you o any loved ones soon!
